Ascom IPBS3-A3 IP DECT Base Station Internal Aerials - 8 Channel
The IPBS3-A3 IP-DECT system combines the VoIP and the traditional wireless DECT solution in an innovative package offering a future proof, reliable and flexible wireless solution for on-site voice and personal alarms in a secure radio environment. The solution is based on standards like SIP that enables interoperability with most of the leading PBX suppliers today.
Ascom IP-DECT access point has a compact design, an integrated antenna, connects to IP-PBX via LAN and supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) for ease of installation. Therefore it requires no additional cabling to support telephony.
All wireless transmissions are encrypted and support cipher rekeying during calls to safeguard against radio eavesdropping. It features multiple channels with capacity for up to eight simultaneous voice calls, messaging; plus a dedicated alarm channel. Its built-in antenna has exceptional radio coverage, and there is even provision to connect external antennae to improve coverage or extend range.
IPBS3-A3 Key Features
- Connection to IP-PBX via LAN
- Roaming and handover
- DECT GAP/CAP radio interface
- H.323 or SIP protocol over IP
- Secure SIP over TLS and SRTP
- Web interface for configuration and software upgrade
- Power over Ethernet or local power supply
- External LED status indication
- Messaging, Alarm and Interactive Messaging
- Broadcast and Multicast Messaging
- Wideband audio
- Nine channels for calls, messaging and alarms

Internet Protocol (IP) versatility
When connected directly to your local area network (LAN), the IP-DECT access point provides IP telephony, protected by the security of DECT radiocommunications.
Expanded security
For greater security, the IP-DECT access point offers a secure radio transfer protocol (SRTP) for added confidentiality, message authentication and replay protection. SRTP is ideal for protecting voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) traffic because it can be used in conjunction with header compression, without adversely affecting IP quality of service.
Excellent signal quality and strength
The IP-DECT access point is fitted with either an internal antenna or connectors for external antennas, depending on the version installed. Multiple antennas correct radio signal fading by switching to another antenna for transmission and reception, resulting in more stable radio performance and better speech quality.
Flexible and adaptive functionality
The IP-DECT access points feature nine channels with which to handle calls, messaging and alarms; however, one channel is dedicated to alarms to make sure that alarms are always transmitted. Handsets are configured, and their software upgraded, centrally and over-the-air (OTA) via a web-based interface.
Compact and easily mounted
The compact design of the IP-DECT access point makes it easy to install on a wall or pole or, if necessary, placed in a housing and mounted outdoors.
